Lincrusta dado panel installation

Dado panels and friezes are a perfect for adding classic styling to elegantly proportioned interiors. Before installing dado panels, consider the traffic in the area - hallways and stairs will obviously need to take more wear and tear than perhaps the lounge, so choosing the right dado panels for longevity is paramount.

Lincrusta Dado Panels are currently available in 4 designs - Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Gothic and Seville., although many of the Lincrusta wallcoverings are also suitable for below a dado. Installed by Frank Holmes Ltd and painted after installation, your choice of colour pallet is unlimited - and with added highlights or decorative effects the possibilities are endless!

Lincrusta or Anaglypta - What's the difference?

To the untrained eye, Anaglypta and Lincrusta may appear to be the same thing. Yes, they are both textured, paintable wallcoverings that can be re-painted again and again, available in a range of classic and contemporary designs. Yet, Lincrusta and Anaglypta are quite different in material and how they are manufactured.

Anaglypta is an embossed, hollow paper or vinyl, similar in weight to standard wallpaper, whereas Lincrusta is made from a gelled linseed and wood flour paste, which is pressed onto a heavy backing paper and is solid throughout.  Lincrusta is flexible initially with a shelf life of 2 years, (each roll and box is stamped with the date of manufacture), but Lincrusta cures with age and is extremely durable, lasting 75 years or more, so actually pretty cost effective in the long run. With added benefits of being made with natural ingredients and both water resistant and fire retardant, Lincrusta is suitable for any room, including the bathroom and kitchen, provided it is fitted in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and finished with a suitable product  – we know which we’d choose!
